Bed, Bath, and Beyond

As many of you could have guessed, returning to the U.S. after living amongst extreme poverty in Calcutta for 2 and a half months is pretty strange. If you've run into me around town in the past few days, I might have seemed a bit off. Heh heh... let me assure you that I am. But then again that's nothing new.

All kidding aside, the words "culture shock" don't quite capture the extremity of my new perspective.

The very first thing I did when I got home was take a long, hot, much anticipated bath. In case you wondered, heaven on earth is a warm bath after 2 1/2 months of cold showers in India.

It is great to be back though. To see all your warm and smiling faces. Access to clean restrooms and food that won't put me in the hospital is pretty sweet! I love all of you and am enjoying catching up with each of you as we cross paths.

You're probably expecting that I'll ramble on and on about how great and easy we've got it over here, but I've never been fond of annoying people by stating the obvious... so you can fill in the blanks.

Sleeping in my own bed is nice.

I really missed riding my bike, A LOT.

It's nice to have music again.

While I was gone, Ben Michel mailed me one of his CDs and its been on repeat in my house ever since my return. Oh and Ben, thanks! Your music was something very sweet to be welcomed home by.

If any of you have any leads on an open position somewhere,
I NEED TO FIND A JOB.

Let me know.

Speaking of jobs, I guess I'll end this now and get back to looking for one like I'm supposed to be doing.

Over...
