Theophany of a River

Pure and natural and unknowing are the currents of Life,
The rawness of your power flowing as some surrender into your side,
You've given and you've taken -- wounds and healing all the same,
Because of beauty I believe, in spite of pains I have received.

Let the river run wild and carry me with it to an unseen place,
Although I know not where I'm going, strange and new adventures will I face,
Anticipation builds nearing each new bend rapturous joy in each new grace,
Drifting helpless in this current reminds me to make the most of my days.

For Knowledge of God's Creation

Almighty and everlasting God, you made the universe with
all its marvelous order, its atoms, worlds, and galaxies, and
the infinite complexity of living creatures: Grant that, as we
probe the mysteries of your creation, we may come to know
you more truly, and more surely fulfill our role in your
eternal purpose; in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
